REPORT (Click to Review)
Background
In 2019, the State of Colorado required us to sample our water for various chemicals, minerals, and radioactive components. This quarterly testing was intended to establish a baseline presence of potentially harmful materials in our drinking water. It was one of the results of our meeting the criteria as a year round community water system in 2018. The state would then use the results to determine future required sampling frequency for these chemicals.
Summary of Results
The complete results for the last quarter of 2019 are included as a separate document as received from Green Analytical Labs dated December 11, 2019. The previous three quarter results have not been included, since the results are all essentially the same. The whole year results will be communicated and posted later this year, as was done for 2018 last year.
The bottom line is that no test result came back higher than the harmful level as defined as “Maximum Contaminant Level” in the report. In fact, in most cases, the results were below the lab’s detection limit. This is really good news, and reflects the pristine source water from our two springs. We are waiting to hear back from the State of Colorado – the future sampling requirements for these chemicals.
Understanding the Details
The Green Lab Report contains: sample input forms, and quality control test methods, as well as the actual sample results. The actual sample results are electronically uploaded to the Colorado Water Quality Website. The sample results are divided into four categories.
Metals/Minerals on in the middle of page
Volatile Organic Chemicals on page
Synthetic Organic Chemicals on page
Radionuclides on page 23
The important information on each page is the Result and MCL (Max Contaminant Level) columns. The MCL is not shown for metals on page 3, but I can provide that information to anyone that is interested. The rest of the report is basically support documents and duplicate copies of forms.
Let me know if anyone has any questions on the report.
